Eustis Engineering performed geotechnical engineering and materials testing services for the Ellington Levee, part of the West Bank hurricane protection levee system.

The Advocate reports that a piece of the West Bank hurricane protection levee system will receive matching grant funds from the state's Coastal Restoration and Protection Authority (CPRA). The Paradis Canal Gate aims to prevent backwater flooding on the west bank of St. Charles Parish.

Eustis Engineering provided geotechnical design recommendations to the engineer, Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc., for elements of the West Bank hurricane protection levee system including the Willowridge, Ellington, and Magnolia Ridge levees, and the Paradis Canal floodgate. In addition, Eustis Engineering provided materials testing services for the Willowridge and Ellington levees.

The grant matching program is part of the Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities and Revived Economies of the Gulf Coast States Act of 2012 (RESTORE Act).
