1.6.2020

The year 2020 will be a notable one in Eustis Engineering’s history.

Bill Gwyn, P.E. stepped down from the Eustis Engineering Board of Directors on 2 January 2020.  Bill began working for Eustis Engineering in 1983.  He served successfully as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Chief Engineer.  He was appointed President of Eustis Engineering in 2002 remaining in that capacity until 2015.  Bill remained on the Board as our Chairman and has been slowly trimming his hours over the last few years.  The Board of Directors and the employees of Eustis Engineering will celebrate his service and commitment with a private company event.  Bill will continue to serve Eustis Engineering as a consultant on special projects such as the State of Louisiana Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion Project.

Randy Eustis, P.E. will retire at the end of 2020.  Beginning in 1969, Randy grew up with Eustis Engineering working summers and holidays in the drilling, laboratory, and engineering departments.  He eventually became a fulltime employee in 1978 after graduating from Tulane University’s School of Engineering.  Randy served as an Associate Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Senior Project Manager at Eustis Engineering.  In 1985, he joined the Board of Directors.  From 2003 to 2015, he served as Executive Vice President.  In 2016, Randy became the sixth President of Eustis Engineering and the last Eustis family member to work for the company his father founded in 1946.  Maybe down the road, in about 12 years or so, Randy hopes one of his grandchildren will follow in his father and his footsteps.  When Randy retires in December 2020, it will be after more than 42 years of service to a great company.

Gwendolyn Sanders, P.E. will become Eustis Engineering’s first woman President.  Gwen has spent her entire career in geotechnical engineering with Eustis Engineering.  Over the past 27 years, she has worked her way up through the ranks of the engineering department currently serving as its Manager.  Gwen has served on the Board of Directors since 1997, and will assume her role as President at the end of 2020.

Chad Held, P.E. will assume his new role as Executive Vice President after the transition.  Chad Held was also the product of a father who lived and breathed Eustis Engineering, former President Lloyd A. Held, Jr.  Chad worked at Eustis Engineering while in high school and all through college absorbing everything he could about the company.  He worked in the drilling, laboratory, and CMT departments before moving into the engineering department.  Chad will continue to do business development and serve as the Regional Manager for our branch offices in addition to taking on his new role as Executive Vice President at the end of 2020.
