On Saturday, April 23rd, the Louisiana Children’s Museum hosted MudFest, a one-day event focused on playing with one of nature’s messiest resources: mud! The ASCE New Orleans Branch participated in the event by running a “Resilient Cities” station. The activities were centered around building resilient cities on mud with an emphasis on supporting structures with piles. The kids were also able to get hands-on with soil samples from the Eustis Engineering lab. James Williams, P.E. and Patrick Thurmond, P.E. volunteered at this event.
