Eustis Engineering President, Gwendolyn P. Sanders, P.E., discusses her journey to become the first woman to serve as company president. "Sometimes, it's easy to stay in your comfort zone. But you have to push yourself, so you stay engaged and excited about what you're doing and learning something new." Being a woman never seemed an issue regarding advancing within the company for Gwen. She gives credit to many of the mentors who encouraged her along the way to take on leadership roles and move through the ranks of the engineering department. Gwen’s main focus during her presidency is to implement a strategic plan which evaluates “where we are and where we want to go.” As for women entering an engineering career, Gwen advises being assertive, going outside of your comfort zone, and establishing mentor relationships.
