QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER – METAIRIE, LOUISIANA

Eustis Engineering is currently looking for a new Quality Control Manager for our main office in Metairie, Louisiana.  A description of the position follows.

Summary

Eustis Engineering is currently looking for a new Quality Control Manager to handle the following duties and responsibilities.

  • Creation, updates, and implementation and adherence to corporate quality system program.
  • Works with managers to develop and maintain equipment calibration schedules and budgets for equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintains and implements with Quality System at all company offices.
  • Provides reports on the calibration and equipment status.
  • Identifies staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with upper management and human resources.
  • Coordinates third party calibration and repairs.
  • Reviews calibration and maintenance procedures for compliance with safety requirements, project specifications and testing standards.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, training, and technician’s technical evaluation.
  • Provides status and progress reports to upper management.

Other duties of the Quality Control Manager include the following.

  • Reviews calibration records for accuracy.
  • Creates written examinations to fulfill the requirements of ASTM E329 and AASHTO R-18.
  • Proctors technicians’ proficiency exams.
  • Assists managers involved in construction materials testing and laboratory testing in selection of new equipment.

Education and/or Experience:  The following are the position’s education and/or experience.

  • As a minimum, the Quality Control Manager must have a high school diploma.
  • The Quality Control Manager must have five years of experience in construction materials testing and/or laboratory testing.
  • The Quality Control Manager must have one year of quality control operations.

Language Skills:  The Quality Control Manager must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret testing standards, project specifications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  The individual must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  The individual must also have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the public.

Mathematical Skills:  The Quality Control Manager must have the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  The individual must have the ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability:  The Quality Control Manager must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The individual must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Outlook software; and Microsoft Office 365 software (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Planner).  The ability to understand complex laboratory testing processing and data acquisition software to include KeyLab, OpenGround, and gINT.

Other Qualifications:  The position of Quality Control Manager must be able to acquire and maintain the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).  He/she must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of work or residence.  He/she must also be able to acquire site specific safety credentials for plant/industrial facility entry as needed.
