Eustis Engineering is currently looking for a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager preferably for our office in Metairie, Louisiana.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include employee training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing and resolving problems.
  • Provide engineering expertise, technical oversight, and overall management of geotechnical engineering projects.  Engineering services may include inspection, investigation, evaluation, design, and construction of existing and new foundations, levees, and other civil structures.
  • Prepare and review design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Manage client relationships.
  • Proactively market and develop geotechnical engineering business opportunities from design to engineering during construction (EDC).
  • Develop engineering proposals and qualification statements.
  • Perform project management activities including planning and delegating work, managing project budgets, invoicing, communicating resource needs, and reporting backlog.
  • Work as a team member across other Eustis Engineering offices to effectively balance workload among available resources.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers.

Necessary Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program with focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience in geotechnical and/or structural engineering, with specific emphasis in geotechnical design.  Louisiana experience and knowledge is preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in one or more states and the ability to seek reciprocity in Louisiana upon employment.
  • Experience/proficiency with common computer-aided analysis and modeling programs applicable to geotechnical engineering (Settle3, Slope/W, Sigma/W, Plaxis, Group, LPILE, APILE, etc).
  • Experience preparing and reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience and knowledge of applicable state and federal design methodologies, policies, and regulations (e.g., USACE, LaDOTD, ASCE, AASHTO).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level.
  • Must be Able to Supervise Three to Five Employees on his/her Team
