Our Expertise

Geotechnical Experts with 78 Years of Experience

With decades of experience in the Gulf Coast region, Eustis Engineering L.L.C. provides geotechnical expertise for projects of all sizes and of all levels of complexity. When challenges arise during a project, we’ve often already seen them and solved them in another construction project. This is a huge head start in terms of meeting time and cost objectives, and a great comfort to our project partners.
Eustis Engineering has more than 24,000 projects under our belt and the historical data from each. We often start a new project having been the geotechnical experts on a previous phase of the project. This gives us much, if not all, of the needed data upfront. Even if we weren’t involved in a project, we often have soil data from that area because we likely performed a similar project 1,000 feet or less away. This again makes for a more efficient project.
Another benefit of working with Eustis Engineering is our capacity. We have more than 100 employees on our team and the latest equipment and instrumentation at our fingertips. No innovation in the geotechnical field escapes our notice.Owning a majority of our own equipment, Eustis Engineering can often provide services quickly, shortening turnaround time. Geotechnical Exploration & Laboratory Testing

The Gulf Coast is one of the most challenging regions in the United States for geotechnical engineering due to its vast deposits of soft soils that are weak and prone to settlement. Properly assessing the subsurface conditions of potential construction sites requires gathering representative soil samples and performing in-situ testing. Eustis Engineering L.L.C. brings decades of expertise in analyzing the region’s soils and diverse geological conditions, ensuring reliable results during exploration. The company operates full-service accredited geotechnical, concrete, and earthwork laboratories to provide timely service to clients, with experienced engineers offering technical oversight to ensure quality testing. Eustis Engineering’s laboratory technicians, equipment, and procedures meet the rigorous quality control/quality assurance demands set by the American Society of Testing and Materials.

Geotechnical Engineering

As the leading geotechnical firm on the Gulf Coast, Eustis Engineering L.L.C. plays an integral part in the development of various types of projects across the Gulf Coast. Eustis Engineering has recently expanded tothe Northeast and looks forward to bringing our expertise in geotechncial engineering to this region. Our geotechnical solutions have paved the way for successful construction and improvements in challenging conditions, and our analyses and recommendations have allowed for cost-effective projects completed in a timely manner. We are dedicated to making this happen on every single project. We are proud to work with federal, state, and local agencies; industrial entities; private entities; and beyond.

Geotechnical Instrumentation

Eustis Engineering L.L.C. has installed geotechnical instrumentation for decades. Our instrumentation programs have resulted in significant cost savings for our clients by reducing earthen preload durations, refining design parameters through full-scale testing, and verifying performance of cutting edge designs. These services extend beyond the construction phase. Our long term monitoring programs verify that soil behavior is within acceptable limits which lengthens the design life of structures.

Construction Materials & Deep Foundations Testing

Eustis Engineering L.L.C. offers comprehensive construction materials testing and inspection services with a dedicated team of over 40 technicians providing quality control for earthwork, piling, concrete, and steel. Our field technicians are trained and certified by respected organizations like ACI, NICET, ICC, and others, while dedicated engineers oversee projects from design to completion. We maintain quality control through adherence to an approved plan and regular inspections by CCRL, AASHTO Resources, and USACE. Additionally, Eustis is the first private consulting firm in Louisiana and Mississippi to own and operate Dynamic Pile Testing (DPT) equipment, offering foundation testing for timber, concrete, and steel piles, and verifying the structural integrity of drilled shafts and other piles. Our advanced technologies enable testing in marshes, swamps, open water, and underwater, with wireless devices allowing remote oversight by multiple engineers during testing.

Special Inspections

Eustis Engineering L.L.C. provides Special Inspection Services in our Louisiana and Mississippi office locations. Special Inspection Services are required for building components identified as critical to structural integrity and safety per Chapter 17 of the International Building Code (IBC).  Special Inspection may include: reinforced concrete; masonry; structural steel and welding inspections; earthwork observation and testing; deep foundation systems; sprayed fire-resistant materials; NDT magnetic particle inspection Level II; NDT dye penetrant inspection Level II; mastic and intumescent fire-resistant coatings and any special cases required by the Statement of Special Inspections prepared by the structural engineer.

As of February 2015, all U.S. states including U.S. territories have adopted the IBC. Special Inspection Services are designed to protect projects from unnecessary costs, lost time, and hazardous safety issues. When utilized correctly, they are an excellent quality assurance tool for engineers, architects, contractors, and owners.

We are proud to be represented in the American Welding Society, 2020 Structural Welding Code.
