Eustis Engineering performed both the geotechnical exploration and construction materials testing (CMT) in Gulfport, Mississippi, at the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies, where the complex was being expanded. In addition to caring for sick or injured marine animals, IMMS focuses on public education, conservation, and research on marine mammals in the wild and under human care. Three new structures were to be built at the site. The first building would house a reef tank and several smaller tanks. In the second building, several marine encounter pools were to be built, and the third building would house a birthday rental pool. Eustis Engineering performed the geotechnical work for the Sazerac House, a new downtown cocktail and liquor museum. The museum, which broke ground 31 January, is expected to open October 2018 at 500 Canal Street. No word yet as to whether they will offer free samples. Read the nola.com story
